My favorite self care activities

Living a healthy life isn’t just about your physical health, what’s on your dinner plate or what you do at the gym. True wellness focuses on your mental, social, and emotional health, too. Here are some of my favorite self care activities.
1. Reading

I have always been a reader. I can read easily 1-2 books a week and not get bored. I was  reading an article last week and I learned that Reading is good for you because it improves your focus, memory, empathy, and communication skills. Even though I'm not the best communicator, lol, reading also  reduces stress, improves your mental health. Reading also allows you to learn new things to help you succeed in your work and relationships.

2. Exercising

Honestly I am not a go hard gym woman, but I can say that going to the gym 2-3 times a week for at least 1 hour has changed the way I feel. Especially since I work from home and I have to sit for long hours at my desk. Being physically active can improve your brain health, help manage weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bones and muscles, and improve your ability to do everyday activities.

3. Soaking myself in a bubble bath

There's nothing better than a hot shower with bubbles after a very stressful day at work. I don't know about you but I added Rose paddles and put on some relaxing music. I love it, bubble baths are my favorites.

4.Getting my hair and nails done

You may not notice but getting my hair done and nails done do wonders to my confidence. Especially now that I no longer wear hair extensions I feel so confident with my short Bob and . Getting a manicure and pedicure regularly also helps me to relax and  enjoy my soft, smooth and polished hands and feet.

5. Listening to relaxing Christian or Country music

There's something about Christian songs that makes me feel more optimistic and positive about life. When i’m finished work that's the first thing I do  “ Alexa put Christian worship songs “ music reduces my stress 100 percent

6. Connecting with Nature

Research shows that people who are more connected with nature are usually happier in life and more likely to report that their lives are worthwhile. Nature can generate many positive emotions, such as calmness, joy, and creativity and can facilitate concentration and I agree because, every time I take a walk or even take care of my plants I feel so much better and positive.

Try one of these self care activities at least once a month, you'll feel so much better!
